Paragraph Structure Notes

     Introduction/topic statement

·         Introduces the Topic

·         Statement restates the question or prompt

·         Tells you what the rest of the paragraph is going to be about

·         1-2 sentences

2    Body of the Paragraph

·         Gives details and examples of the topic

·         Explain details and examples and how they support what you are writing about

·         Three examples, minimum

·         3-6 sentences should make up a paragraph

3   Conclusion Statement

·         Wrap up your topic

·         Don’t repeat what you’ve just said
